About Media Conversions

I started out as a graduate engineer with MSEE and MSCS degrees. I worked for 26 years at Bell Labs and then AT&T Labs (after the Lucent spin off). The last part of my career at AT&T, and my subsequent 5 years at Xerox, was spent managing engineering projects. I have never forgotten the satisfaction that a hands-on engineering project gives and I’ve longed to return to the basics for quite a while now. I formed Media Conversions while I was at Xerox as an outlet for that creative energy.

The name Media Conversions, and the service mark “We take what you have and give you want you want”, were designed to complement the concept of converting images (photos, film, video tape) to formats that are newer, more accessible, and easier to view and share with others. I’ve been designing custom equipment and writing software to support the business. Along the way I’ve set up an Ebay Identity “media-conversions” to enable me to buy and sell items easily.

Follow the Links under R2D2 and CNC to see what I’ve been up to lately.
